  • WHAT IS MYOTHERAPY?
Myotherapy is a soft tissue approach to treating pain and dysfunction within the body. Our main goal is to assess your body as a WHOLE UNIT rather than each body part. During the assessment, the goal is to find the main cause of your pain, rather than what actually hurts. This is done so that the pain doesn't come back in a few days, weeks or even months. We use a number of different techniques such as: Myofascial Release Work, Dry Needling, Cupping, Scraping and Joint Mobilisations to restore full fuction of your muscles, tendons, joints. Each client also receives a Rehabilitation Program where they are given stretches, self-treatment, exercises and strength & conditioning to help you get rid of pain and TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR BODY.
  • HOW IS DYNAMIC THERAPY DIFFERENT THAN OTHER THERAPIES?
Dynamic Therapy's name speaks for itself. We use a number of different treatment techniques to get the results that we need - whether it's to decrease pain, increase range of motion or to create change. The belief of Dynamic Therapy is that the body is a whole. It moves as a whole, functions as a whole, creates power as a whole. In some way or another everything is connected. That's why we look globally at how you move, and how one small issue can created a larger issue up or down the chain. This helps us figure out the root cause of your pain, dysfunction or areas that are holding you back. With all of this, comes lasting change.
  • CAN DYNAMIC THERAPY HELP WITH *INSERT CONDITION/PAIN/INJURY/ETC*?
The answer to this is YES. We have seen over 1000 clients in the last 5 years, with most of their issues being resolved. Some issues may take longer than others, but this depends on the condition and client. If you aren't sure if we can help, get in contact with us so that we can have a chat about your issue! If we feel that you would benefit from seeing other health professionals such as a Chiropractor, Osteopath, Physiotherapist - we have a networking system in place so that we can send you to the right person.
  • CAN DYNAMIC THERAPY HELP WITH POOR POSTURE AND POSTURAL IMBALANCES?
Yes we can! We look at your body as a whole unit. Poor posture does not come from one muscle being short and tight, but by number of muscles and structures being "stuck" or predominantly in one position for extended periods of time.
  • WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A DYNAMIC THERAPY SESSION?
Expect to get results. We base our growth on the results that we get. From getting people out of pain who have been experiecing it for +20 years, to getting people able to lift their arm over their head after a shoulder injury or surgery. We assess your body as a whole, to see whats working well and what isnt. We then create a treatment plan catered to YOU. We then proceed to work on you using manual therapy and, if needed, other treatment techniques in order to get the change that we need. Lastly, you will recieve a catered Rehabilitation Program to create long lasting results.
  • HOW CAN DYNAMIC THERAPY HELP IF I'M NOT IN PAIN?
What we explain to all of our clients is that you shouldn't only come in once you're in pain, or can't do certain movements anymore. We are a society that is becoming more technology based, and as this becomes the norm, we are being glued to our chair for hours on end and staring into a computer screen for 5-6 hours a day at the MINIMUM. This doesn't allow our body to to be in a position to heal and thrive, or to work and move as it should. This, over time, with some training, can lead to a possible future injury or pain. Whilst what you could be doing is monthly "tune up" sessions, which allows us to work on your built up tension, sort out some aches and tweaks, work on your movement patterns before it becomes a bigger issue. This will make YOU feel better, move better and enjoy a pain-free life.
  • WHAT TO WEAR DURING A DYNAMIC THERAPY SESSION?
Women: singlets, halter neck bra or top which allows us to see your upper back, and shorts. Men: singlets, shorts. We recommend wearing this clothing as it is important to us that you comfortable but also getting the most out of your treatment. If for whatever personal or religious reasons, you can't wear that clothing, just let us know! This is only a recommendation, not a MUST.
  • CAN YOU CLAIM WITH PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE?
Yes you can! We are registered with many Private Health Providers, and have a HICAPS machine at the clinic so that you can claim on the spot! If you aren't sure if your covered by your Private Health Insurance, please get into contact with them prior to your session.
  • DOES TREATMENT HURT?
It depends on the individual and their tolerance to pain. Some may feel more pain than others, but they usually call it "good pain" as we work at a deep level through those areas to release the built-up tension. We work at a level where your body responds in the correct way and actually accepts what we're doing as we create a change in your tissues. There are some areas and techniques that can be more tender or painful than others, but that is why we are constantly communicating with you to make sure we are using the right pressure. The WORST thing to do is to put too much pressure and make it sore to the point where you tense up, this can do the actual opposite and sometimes aggravate your symptoms.
  • HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?
This depends highly on what you are presenting with, our treatment plan and how adherent you are with your Rehabilitation Program. Some issues can take 3-5 session, whereas more complex and chronic conditions may take more.
